Preschool Begins Aug 27th



  3yr. old class will start the 1st day with an Open House from 9:30-11:00, so your child can see my house, get to know me, and get more excited to come to school & feel safe with you at their side. Thursday Aug. 29th I will meet you at the door and your child and I will say goodbye to you.  Your child will receive an invitation about one week before school starts.
4yr. old class will begin the first day as a normal preschool day.  Most of them know me and are ready to start.  12:30-3:00
I will send almost all of my information about preschool through e-mail & text.  If you do not receive text on your phone let me know and I will call you.  I will also post most all information & my monthly calendar on my blog so you can find it when you need it.  My blog is michellespreschool@blogger.com. 
I will be sending my policies and procedure information out in Aug.  You will need to fill out and sign the emergency forms and relies of liability before you child comes to school on Aug. 27th.

AM class- 3 year old program
10:30 @ my house.  Do not knock.  Please walk in and meet us in the basement.  It will be a short but sweet program.

Normal school day with a program rehearsal

Tuesday, May 28th
Field Day
Bring your lunch and eat with friends.  I will have games and treats for everyone.  We will meet @ 12:30 at the Cougar Lane Park (6650 South 4800 West, West Jordan)  
Siblings and friends are welcome.

Wheeler Farm & our caterpillars

Thursday we get to go to Wheeler Farm.  Yay!!  I know the kids are going to love it.  We will meet in the parking lot by the big barn starting at 12:50.  Our field trip starts at 1:00 so I would like to meet a little early so we can start on time.  If you have not paid yet please pay me this week.

I am sure your child has been telling you about our caterpillars.  They have been so much fun to watch.  Ask them the stages of the butterfly.  If your child is in my afternoon class ask them about the naughty caterpillar. They have all been able to see all the stages of the caterpillars up to this point.  They are all now in the chrysalis form. Any day now; I am hopping tomorrow, some should start appearing as butterflies.  Our last caterpillar just formed its chrysalis on Friday so we have another week or two to watch them change.  Then we will feed them for a few days and then let them go.

May Happenings

Class Pictures- On May 7th we will have professional class pictures taken here at my house during class by Vanessa Farardo .  I sent a flyer last week with the details.  If you need another flyer please ask me and I will get you one.  

Our Graduation program this year will be just for the Pre-K class only.  It will be on May 23rd at the Hunter Library @ 6:30 pm.  The address is 4740 W. 4100 S.  West Valley City

Spring Program- The 3yr. olds will do a short spring program in my home during class on May 23 @ 10:30 A.M.  They will show you what they have learned this year.

Field Day- May 28th will be our last day together for this school year.  We will have a combined Field Day/Picnic at the park.  I will give you the details as it gets closer.

Wheeler Farm Field Trip

On April 25th we will be going to Wheeler farm for our field trip.  This field trip will wrap up our unit on spring.  I am so excited to see the baby animals.   We will also get to make butter, feed the ducks, and go for a wagon ride.  It does cost $2 person.  If you could send the money with your child to school in the next couple of weeks that would be great.  Parents do need to attend with their child or make arrangement with another adult.  Siblings are welcome.  I will not be able to drive any children.  We will meet at Wheeler Farm @ 12:50. 
I do need to get an exact # count ASAP.  If I pay ahead it is only $2 a person, any additions is $3 the week of the field trip.  I will send you a text please let me know how many will be coming with you on the field trip.

April Happenings

Science- This month we will be learning about spring and butterflies.  I ordered some caterpillars.  I am so EXCITED to watch them change and grow with the class.  We will be learning about the stages of a butterfly. When the butterflies are all fully developed we will watch them for a day or two and then let them go.  I will be mixing our lessons on spring and butterflies together, so the calendar my not be perfectly accurate.  The unit on spring will end with our Field Trip to Wheeler farm.
Field Trip- I have tentatively planned Wheeler Farm field trip for Thursday the 25th.  I am still working on it so I will let you know for sure soon.  It costs $2 a person if we pay in advance.  We will get to see a blacksmith, feed and ducks, watch the animals, and best of all go for a wagon ride.  Parents do need to attend field trips with their child.  Siblings are welcome, but it does cost for each person.  You may make arrangements with another parent to drive and be responsible for your child if you would like to.
