This Thursday is wear green day.
We have had a really good start to the year!!! The little 3 year olds have been
amazing. They are soooo cute and sooo
fun. The Pre-K students have grown up so
much since last year. They are able to
do so much more. They are so excited to
be with their friends and learn.
We have been learning what and rules and routines are and
having fun at the same time. It will
take us a couple of weeks to have all of the routines in place.
We have already learned about the letter m and letter a. I teach the children an action to go with each letter and sound
they learn. This will help the students learn the letter and sounds better and
identify the sounds in words. We will
make the actions to the words as we study word sounds. Please ask them what the letter is, what its
sound is, and what the action is too. I
will try to stamp their hands each week when we learn a new letter. The 3 year
olds will learn beginning sounds only.
The pre-k class will work on beginning sounds initially and as the year
progresses we will learn ending sounds and middle sounds too.
Each week as we study new letters we will make tactile alphabet pages. These will help you child learn the letters
by sight and sounds in words in a hands on approach. Save
these alphabet pages. Tape them on
the bedroom wall and review them or put them in a 3 ring binder and study them
all year. This will help your child
master the letters faster.
This week for math we are
learning about same and different. You
can help your child learn about same and different by having them sort shoes,
silverware, dishes (yea chores). Ask
your child why they are the same and why they are different. Compare colors, shapes and designs.
