There is no school on Thursday due to Fall break.
This week we are learning letter b. I know the calender says other
wise. I goofed and I really wanted to teach b along with bones this
week. We had a lot of fun learning about how we all have bones inside
us. We looked at x-rays, books and put a skeleton together today. We
talked about how we could not move and stand up without our bones. We
would just be a blob on the floor without our bones. Next week we will
learn more about bones and skeletons.
Next week we will finish letter b and then review letters t, l, & b.
I am so impressed with how well behaved all our the children have been
this year. They are so much fun to teach. I love making them laugh.
This week we will be learning the letter l. We will also be learning
about fall, how and why the leaves change colors and fall off the trees.
On Thursday the 11th we will have show
and tell for both classes. Please have your child find some fall leaves
and bring them to class to show everyone.
Thursday is also wear orange day. If your child has any orange please have them wear orange.
Next week is fall break we will only have class on Tuesday the 16th.
It has been so much fun to teach your children. Both classes
are doing so well. We have learned class rules really well now and we
have really good routines in place. I am very proud of them all.
Last week we had so much fun, we made some magic with yellow and blue clay. We mixed them together and made green clay.
We had a lot of fun learning about the 5 senses.
We smelled vanilla, vinegar, cinnamon, soy sauce, and more.
We tasted bitter: grapefruit, sour: lemons, salty: popcorn, sweet: pineapple.
We
listened to different sounds and listened to different tones that pipes
make when they are different lengths and we played with musical
instruments.
Last of all we used all of our senses and watch, listened, and smelled
as we popped popcorn in a hot air popcorn popper. When it was done we
touched and tasted the yummy buttery and salty popcorn.
